Dear Judy: I quit doing medical transcription in 2002, but at that time, everything was available on line and on CD. However, my last job as a transcriptionist, I worked in a doctor's office, and I used the Optacon to file my charts after I finished the dictation. I now work as an administrative assistant for the Commission for the Blind of Michigan, and when I don't have a reader, my old trusty Optacon still does the job for me and allows me to use fewer reader hours. I do ues E-books for the most part now, and am part of the pilot test program for the NLS Download site.
