Really isn't much to connecting a camera to a powerbook other than plugging a cable in, if you buy an airport the wireless pretty much sets itself up. If you feel comfortable using a computer a laptop will not be much different other than that the keyboard has a different layout. I know that Mostly Digital holds seminars every now and then to help new users learn OS X and various programs, I don't know about the Mac Outpost but they may do similar things.
