I, too, have scanned circuit diagrams. I've used my Optacon for several years to read W-2 and 1099 forms in doing my family's taxes (it's that time again). I've also used it to read analog meters on my tape deck and even to examine the needle on the water pressure meter for our baseboard hot water heating system to insure proper pressure. Any of this worth adding to the testimonials? Of course, it's also handy for perusing the on-screen programming for the VCR and for examining the computer screen when speech goes belly-up. Of course, we could on those amazing things have people going oooh, aaaah. Seriously, I think a testimonial about different things, particularly unique things, that can be done with the Optacon might spur some interest in maybe having a successor. I'm thinking about things like reading charts, diagrams, writing on bottles and cans, as well as reading hand-printed items. Oh, then of course, there are lots of other things such as the ability to quickly look something upk, the ability to sign a document independently, etc. I'd be happy to send a snippet about using it to read org charts and circuit diagrams, if you decide you want to go in that direction. I'm keeping all those messages. I'm thinking about how to present the optacon in such a way that people who have never heard of it can see how special it is; with all my planning, though, I usually just dive in and end up disregarding any plans I make. I'm wondering, since this list is part of this, if some folks should review what I put together before I send it out; or maybe some of you can submit brief testimonials in audio format, maybe fifteen or thirty seconds, so that people can hear other voices besides mine. I can easily splice them in. I use Studio Recorder from American Printing House for my audio work, and I'm nowhere as professional as those who have sound studios, but I do what I can. Any thoughts are most welcome; I'd kind of like to keep this discussion on the list, if the moderator doesn't mind, so we can all be part of it.
