No, it wasn't her. It was someone named Paul Edwards. It's in the comment history I sent up, which hopefully you got by now.

If it was Gustavo, I understand that he is very busy, but if he had provided more detailed information, other people wouldn't have to waste their time trying to find what the problems are. Not to mention all the time I have wasted composing these messages, and the time of those reading and responding to them.

Is the title missing, garbled, missing a capital letter? Who knows. Is the copyright information missing, garbled, what. Are we just supposed to guess, revalidate the book and hope that the problem goes away? If I am to fix a problem, I need information. The comment history provides precious little. Instead, I just get what looks like this boilerplate text.

Who submitted the book you validated? Did it say? It could have been her.
Did it say she was the one who wrote the note about the book needing more
verification? I've never heard that name before, but the last we heard,
Gustavo was the one approving all books right now until they could get more
staff. If that's changed, I haven't heard, but that doesn't mean anything.
<smile> Take care.

Then who's Jenny Easterling? if I'm remembering the name correctly? But I'm
sure it wasn't Gustavo. They don't sound even remotely alike. <grin>

The comments you saw are from the admin, not another validator. When a
book
is kicked back, the comments you see are from Gustavo, who puts in a note
of
what needs to be verified for a book to be accepted. Take care.

Yes, the comment history said that the title and copyright information needed verified. That was strange because the title was missing at the top of the book as submitted, but I put it in right at the top of the book I tried to upload on Sunday evening..

(By the way, how did this comment history get created? If the book was
released for validation again, why didn't someone else take it and just do
the title and copyright verification instead of just commenting on the
fact
that it was missing? Did they download the book and just reject it, or
are
these comments done on some other page? My validation instructions made
no
mention of this process.)

And there is mention of my having validated the book. My comment is right
there that it was my first validation and that I had made sure that all
page
numbers and page breaks were included.

Also, the information I added to the form, which the submitter did not
include, such as the ISBN number, and a long synopsis was up there, as
well
as a correction of a typo in the brief synopsis.

I just sent up the book again this morning, and the scan statistics look
pretty much as I remembered them from the first time I uploaded the book
on
Sunday evening, and I made extremely sure that it was the version I fixed
up.

The thought I am having now is that in some mysterious way, the
unregistration I experienced on Sunday evening when I tried and failed to
get to the Step One page after logging in - which Janice Carter fixed -
may
have created some problem in the validation process causing the book to be
released. If that's what happened, then the book I sent up this morning
will - hopefully - be the one that future readers will get.

Hi Evan,
When you saw your book back on step 1, did you happen to look at the
comment
history? Did it say anything about why the book was kicked back? If you
checked and there was no mention of you having validated the book and
uploading it, maybe the site maintenance caused the hiccup. It's not a
common problem--actually you've been finding all sorts of unique glitches
haven't you? <lol>
