Oh, I know who this submitter is, and her name doesn't have an E-mail address
attached to it.

I've validated quite a few of her books and Lisa L. is correct. The last book
I validated of hers had only the word "Intrigue" in the synopsis field. Well,
it's a good thing I skimmed that book and did some research, because the book
was very sexually explicit and needed to be labeled as adult material for sure,
and this is coming from someone with a really dirty mind and a raunchy since of
humor. <smiles> I don't expect a complete synopsis for a book that I'm
validating, but it would be nice to have something to go on just so I know if
it would be something I'd want to validate.

I've worked on some of the romances she's submitted and some of them do say
that they are large print editions, so this may explain some of the scan-o's,
missing words at the beginning and end of lines, etc. Again, though, it was
obvious the book hadn't been reviewed after being scanned.

The text quality is usually Okay and as Lisa pointed out sometimes the fair
rating is warranted, but I'd have to come to the same conclusion and infer that
the submitter doesn't take the time to fill in any of the category information
or synopsis info.

There are many books being submitted by this individual and I think it's great
that someone is putting time into scanning and submitting, but from a
validator's standpoint, cleaning these submissions up is sometimes quite a job,
and this doesn't even take into consideration the whole page break issue.

Shelley, if you or someone from Bookshare would take on the task of explaining
the problems we are having from a validator's standpoint, that would be great.
I don't think that just having book after book rejected as some on this list
have suggested is the solution here, since it seems she genuinely wants to help
and I don't think just rejecting the book in the hopes that she'll figure out
what the problems are and correct them is fair to her. She would probably
appreciate the feedback.

Lisa

I have to be honest, I haven't downloaded too many books by this submitter.
But I think that's accurate. I don't think the default rating has been
changed... that't not to say that many of these submissions don't deserve
this rating. But I don't think they all do. But I don't think this
submitter changes the default rating because she also doesn't select
categories or fill out any synopsis information.
