Keep in mind that some of the alloys used in AN fittings are
susceptible to stress corrosion cracking when the anodization is
disrupted. Specifically, they can be sensitive to chlorides, so it's
important to not expose them to salt water. For an internal
modification that's unlikely unless you do something like putting salt
in the fuel to color the flame.

It's an uncommon failure but it cost SpaceX a Falcon 1, so it seems
worth learning from their experience.
