I've used a R1C and r1D right handed, index finger for as
long as I have read.  Didn't want to wait for TSI to build a
left handed unit.  Trained at Palo Alto the summer before
Nixon quit - lots of talk around the restaurant tables about
that.  So, lots of years.

As I'm sure you will know, the advantage of an Optacon II
is that you 
can use any finger on either hand to read, as the array is
open, and 
not in an enclosed space as in the Optacon R 1 D, which
limits you to 
the index finger on your left hand.
