- sounds like littering to me. what ever happened to 'take only photographs, leave only footprints'? what if I like to tinker around on rusty old cars? am I now able to use that rationale to leave rusty old cars in public spaces for others to find so they can tinker too? ------ Original Message ------ Received: Tue, 09 Dec 2008 08:57:41 AM EST From: Michael Rogers <mrogers07@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: geocaching@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [GeoStL] Re: Frisbee Rule???? - I do not think it's a stretch...there are tons of guardrail, street sign and cache simply placed along roadsides and in parks that are published each day. You seriously don't believe they all asked permission, do you...especially in places with no existing policy? I think it's wishful thinking to believe that 80-90% ask permission for every hide that is placed. I think the analogy stands. Suppose I am a frisbee fiend and I love the game so much I want others to play as well. I play frisbee in parks all the time and I leave frisbees for others to find so they can play as well...heck, I even tell people where I leave them. Same difference. At any rate, I think you take the analogy too literal. The point is, if you have an activity you enjoy doing in a park that needs no permission to do, geocaching fits in the same category as long as there are no existing rules. -Michael ________________________________ From: Craig Ingram <seaeye@xxxxxxxxxx> To: geocaching@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Tuesday, December 9, 2008 7:51:10 AM Subject: [GeoStL] Re: Frisbee Rule???? - I agree there are some that do not ask permissions but I think for the most part half would be a a real stretch. I could see maybe five or ten percent maybe. I don't care how much it's been hashed out it's still not a good analogy. Do you leave anything behind playing Frisbee? Not trying to argue this again. Just saying we need a better comparison this is too far off. **************************************** For List Info or To make _ANY_ changes, including unsubscribing from this list, click -----> //www.freelists.org/list/geocaching Missouri Caches Scheduled to be Archived http://tinyurl.com/87cqw Missouri land use policies --> www.MoCache.net Mogeo forums -->http://mogeo.ipbhost.com/index.php "NGR LIST" --> //www.freelists.org/list/mga **************************************** For List Info or To make _ANY_ changes, including unsubscribing from this list, click -----> //www.freelists.org/list/geocaching Missouri Caches Scheduled to be Archived http://tinyurl.com/87cqw Missouri land use policies --> www.MoCache.net Mogeo forums -->http://mogeo.ipbhost.com/index.php "NGR LIST" --> //www.freelists.org/list/mga
