There is such a thing as going too far in that direction, though.
Copenhagen Suborbitals under Peter Madsen's leadership struck me as an
example of that: lots of showy firsts, little follow-through /
debugging / iterative improvement.

Well, yeah, occasionally discovering that something you started is actually a blind alley is fine, but if it happens a lot, there might be something wrong.
