Hello, Becky, Not to take any business away from Richard Oehm, but your local Batteries Plus store should be able to offer you a new battery. All the Best, Judith Meyers -----Original Message----- From: Becky Tsurumoto [mailto:btsur@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Tuesday, August 30, 2005 2:13 AM To: optacon-l@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Optacon R1D Problem Hello Listers: I use an Optacon R1D. The battery won't hold its charge, so I have the Ac adapter plugged in most of the time. I was away for 2 weeks and had the adapter unplugged. The battery was completely discharged, so I plugged in the adapter. Even after 20 hours of charging and with the AC adapter plugged in, I'm not able to read anything. The battery tester gives a very low tone. In invert mode, I get vibrations of the full array. Do I have to replace the battery? I'd appreciate any advice.
