Reading labels on medicine can indeed be a challenge. The
best way I found to do it was to place the bottle between my
legs with it lying horizontally with the lid facing away
from me. By moving one leg with respect to the other, I
could roll the bottle around to read the part I needed.
Since most of my meds were routine maintenance doses, I soon
began to know roughly where to look for the med name.
Fortunately, I have now gone to the use of the script-talk
lbeling system, which makes things easier for me.

Excellent, Bob! I had similar experiences identifying
medicines, varnish, paints, etc., for which I used the
Optacon. It's great to be able to take care of things fairly
independently because of it. I plan to use the Optacon for
as long as I possibly can in addition to using other
equipment or apps where applicable.

Hi, it's Bob in NY.
I found a vile of medication and the braille label had
fallen off. I tried to read it with the optacon, but I am
not good at reading viles or bottles.
I found the label was coming off, so I gently removed it and
put it flat on the table. I was able to read that it was
Amlodipine, a medication I take.
This was very important, so I was able to label the vile in
braille. A small thing, but something I could never had
done without the optacon.
Reading viles and bottles is difficult for me, and I was so
glad I was able to get the label off. it was a risky
strategy, but it worked.
