What you are talking about is diagrams, and you want to stick with the
patterns that will give you the text you need. You can definitely read
these with an optacon, but recently I have gotten my patterns online with
plenty of text instruction. That may be a quicker way to go, unless you
have that special pattern in hard-copy only.

and back home. I'm thinking what book to start with.
second, I wonder if anyone has any experience with reading knitting patterns
or their drawings. Sorry, I don't know the correct English word for these.
Could I take advantage of these drawings with OptaCon? Of course, I can't
see colours, since I'm totally blind. It is my belief that colours play a
role in these drawings.
