Hi Wendy,

As a courtesy during a warranty HD replacement, we always install the
factory Mac OS for the customer for free. You mentioned that you felt
confident in restoring your Time Machine backup at home so all I
needed to do was restore the Mac oS for you. I did not have your
particular Mac OS disc set (Apple does not give them to us for free
anymore so we have to make our own disc library) so I installed 10.5.8
so that you could then use the Migration Assistant to move your TM
Backup data back to your hard drive. I offer this option to folks who
can do the migration themselves at home because it lowers their bill
(Apple warranty does not cover data recovery or transfer). And the
migration process *after* Mac OS installation usually works
flawlessly, but in your case something went wrong. At your
convenience, please drop your computer off at Mostly Digital along
with your Time Machine Backup HD and your original Mac OS installation
discs if you have them, and I will reinstall the factory Mac OS and do
the migration during the install, instead of after it, and complete
all the software updates, for free.
