Try clicking on the disk in the finder, then press on the letter i while 
holding down the command key.  Now click on the arrow next to Sharing & 
Permission the drop down menu will show what permission you have i.e. read 
only/read write change it so admin and system have read and write privileges 
and you should be good to go.
