When my children first were both in school, and it was kindergarten and first grade, because they didn't go to pre-school, I found that I spent longer and a more relaxed time at the grocery store. It was just such a pleasure dong my shopping without any children. The pleasure of that particular freedom is still with me after 30 years. Any my children were not particularly troublesome, although once I did have to stop what I was doing, leave my basket in the middle, and take a screaming child home--but only once.
