The original poster was probably thinking of Orbitec's concept of injecting one propellant in an *upward* vortex along the wall, to mix with the other propellant at the top and burn down the center. This lets you use all of one propellant, whereas with standard film cooling you have to use an absolute minimum of coolant flow because much of it won't get a chance to burn.

The stability of such vortex flow, unfortunately, can't be taken for granted (as with film cooling in general), although with lots of coolant you've got bigger margins.
