Excuse me for butting in, but if you use something that scans into pdf it may just put in the image; rather than the OCR of the text, which would render it inaccessible to any person who is using a screen reader. If the paper is not full of graphs that won't scan for blind users; I'll be happy to scan it with Openbook and get my sighted wife to help proof it. Then it could be posted just about anywhere. I was trained at Telesensory in winter 1972-73 on the OPTACON. I'd love to see a new one, so I'd be glad to help. The most convenient way to make them widely available seems to be as PDF files. But this involves scanning with software that automatically constructs a complete PDF document. I'm not sure how best to proceed, but it's definitely a worthwhile task. I'll doing some checking around and maybe other list members will also give us some input. I wonder if Judy Adams has access to a suitable scanner system? Thanks, Keith ----- Original Message ---- From: Jim Bliss <jamescbliss@xxxxxxxxx> To: optacon-l@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Tuesday, January 27, 2009 12:19:57 PM Subject: [optacon-l] Re: Optacon article - new optacon Keith, I have a copy of the final report you mention as well as some of the other thesis done on the Optacon. All of this information is in the public domain. Let me know if there is a way to make this widely accessible.
