Hi.
I haven't seen the bar code scanner attachment yet.

at work, we still have one of the oldest pacmates built, an old
tns model.  we are supposed to get
the newer version, most likely a qx400,
the one with a qwerty keyboard, (like a laptop),
with the 40 cell braille display.
I assume the barcode reader either plugs into th eusb port,
or communicates via the infrared port.
you must have some softwre running on the pacmate
to interpret the code, and look it up
in a database of some sort.
the only bard code reader that I have seen is
the id mate.
