- Baby wipes and alcohol wipes do work and they also help with chiggers! Chiggers are very small and easily crushed by any wiping action (Even dry hands!) I always rub over my legs with a damp soaped washcloth after going through tall grass and have greatly reduced my chigger bites. As far as curing poison ivy, I got a prescription for Diprolene ointment a few years ago and it works wonders!
