Good idea Jim. Frozen is better than wet which was part of the reasoning for
going North. Last time I drove through the Quad cities was the last time I saw
Ice fishing on the Mississippi! If a winter storm churns up we might have to
have an alternate. Read some of the cache descriptions and logs. I don't
anticipate a lot of buried in the ice caches but then again Quad cities weather
is a whole different animal than here.

Count me in.

I will make topo maps for the area (I already have them for Springfield, IL)

One concern with going North is weather and snow. If caches are buried
under snow, they can be extremely difficult to find. Or we could get a bad
storm that weekend. So maybe there could be a Plan B to go somewhere South
if weather is a problem.
