Spanish computer braille works, yes, but I personally steer clear of it for the following reasons:
* Spanish computer braille has its own set of punctuation, so you'd need to learn at least some of that. * Switching codes is an absolute pain (if you're like me and interchange writing in English and Spanish reasonably regularly, eg on a web page you'll almost certainly want English computer braille * If you want to edit with speech, the keynote gold synthesizer speaks very, very slowly in Spanish and you can't change it, and the eloquence one lags too much for my liking to be honest although it is usable * I find it odd that the Spanish accented characters display with the dot 8 on the bottom, although you could reconfigure that if you wanted to
Just some thoughts ... I've done Spanish for 6 years on the BN now and can say that assigning macrons in the unicode tables (and also display combinations, let me know if you want help with that) works well, as does the English grade 2 option. One thing to be aware of in grade 2 is that every now and again (there must be a pattern but I'm not sure what it is), the BN seems to decide you want a grave accent instead of an acute one, which goes the other way ... But that's usually never an issue.
