It's hard to compare the Apex to the Touch because they run on different
platforms. I will say that the Touch provided a much easier experience for
moving to Android since they brought the KeySoft environment to it. One
thing to keep in mind about the Touch is that it is the way forward for
notetakers and the only way they will stay relevant amongst today's modern
technology. That being the benchmark, the Touch is very slow for a modern
mainstream tablet and has a lot of stability problems and bugs which is
understandable for a first release. It can do a lot more though and provides
the foundation to gain access to mainstream environments using accessible
interfaces. One thing I don't like about the new KeyWord is that it no
longer retains your place in the document when you exit. This would be
problematic if you're not working near the beginning or end of the document.
The only app I did find that kept my place in a document was the Braille
reader. I would encourage you to listen to the free Mystic Access tutorial
covering the BrailleNote Touch to gain a better understanding of the Touch
interface and understand how it differs from the Apex. You can download it

Hi all,
I got to see a BrailleNote Touch this week and am considering getting one,
but I still have some questions that I'd love to get help with here. In
general, I'd love to hear from those of you using the Touch about how you
like it as compared to the Apex, but here are some specific things I'm
wondering about
1. How easy or challenging was the adjustment from the Apex to the Touch?
Were you able to perform basic tasks like writing documents, checking email,
using the internet, etc, fairly quickly? Were there things that took a while
to learn/feel comfortable with on the Touch?
2. How stable is the Touch compared to the Apex in terms of how often it
crashes, how often it needs to be reset, etc?
3. Is there anything the Apex can do that the Touch can't?
4. I know the Touch can't connect to an iPhone. Do we think this might
change, or is it just unnecessary given the Touch's capabilities?
5. Is the internet faster/more accessible on the Touch than it is on the
Apex?
6. I saw that the Touch has a camera. Does it have OCR capabilities?
7. Any other pros/cons/things to be aware of as I consider upgrading from
the Apex to the Touch?
