Version 8 was the first version to include the optimize feature. It goes
through and tries various settings and then gives you the best choices for
each. You can then save that optimize for your particular book. Each book
can have its own settings for best quality and you can save them and then
reload them if you exit k1000 and go back to scanning the book at a later
time.
