Patti, You say you don't know where the pictures in the book are. If you could find out via a sighted friend or relative, you can just skip the pages with pictures -- but mark the page number and indicate that that page is an illustration. Some pictures have captions, and it's good to scan those, if you can. If you have a really good friend or relative who's willing to help by describing the picture, it's nice to have that description in, but it's not necessary. Shelley, I think you suggested that she scan the pages with the pictures,too, but they won't convert, will they? They don't stay in the book when it goes to bookshare, do they? However, Patti, if you do scan them and a validator can get the book he/she can indicate that that page is am illustration and delete the garbage that might be on it.
