Thanks for this message about ways to find books to scan, I am saving this message for future reference. I must admit, having only been on this list for a day or so I was beginning to wonder if I should even make the effort to submit a book, because I don't know the first thing about how to fix scans; all I know is how to scan and all this talk about submissions and how accurate that we want them to be made me think that I could never offer anything passable. I am still not sure if I should try or not. My question is, what if your book has pictures in it, and particularly if it has a lot? What do you do about that, if you don't know where they are? I have this really neat book I want to submit but I am afraid it may not be scannable. Oh, I scanned it once for myself and got the gist of it, but I don't know if my copy is submitable. Thanks for listening to my ramble, take care, and I will try to learn from you all, and maybe it will all click one day and I'll try to submit something.

Hello my fellow booksharians:
Feel like scanning something, but don't know what to scan?

Ah yes, what a quandry of epic proportions.

Well, fear not, you have 2 options
First and foremost there is the Bookshare-maintained wishlist. This can be
found at:
http://www.bookshare.org/web/WishList.html
Here you can find books that other booksharians are longing for.

Secondly, there is the Rui-maintained "no book left behind list." This can
be found at: http://members.cox.net/booksharescans/rejected.html
These are books that were rejected by the innitial validater. However, just
because the scan wasn't up to standard, does not mean that these books
should not take there rightful place in the bookshare library.

So in closing, I encourage all of you scanners to take a look at these two
lists,
