When it comes to reading text, and we primarily do read instead of listen, Doug usually reads to himself in his browser with Dragon NaturallySpeaking to navigate but when he is managing books for Nichole usually reads them in Don Johnston Read Out Loud Bookshare edition, as do I. When Nichole is reading independently she usually also uses the Don Johnston software, but her communication device also has an embedded daisy e-book reader. We really like the Don Johnston software because the voices are excellent, it is exactly the same appearance between the Mac and the PC, and you are able to take notes and save files differently which helps when you have different people helping her get to where she needs to be. We are really hoping and praying that they will come up with an iPad solution soon so that she has better battery life for reading while we are out and about, especially for hour-long drives. If you are interested in what we use as volunteers, that's a different story altogether. :-) Valerie On Aug 13, 2010, at 4:38 PM, Scott Rains wrote: > Jill, > > OT or On Topic this question catches my attention.
