Anybody who just needs a battery replaced, if you have a Batteries Plus near
you or one which will accpet shipped items, they will build a battery for the
Optacon for about $40 installed. They even tore apart a Optacon II battery
pack and hot-glued it back together, Lol. They've also done my Braille Lite
with excellent results.

charges for things like cleaning and battery replacement, etc? My poor old
R1D model has been dead now for more then a year, and I"m still in mourning
for it. I probably can't afford any repairs as I'm now on a small fixed SSI
income, but it own't hurt to look, I suppose.
