I got my Optacon training at 919 Walnut Street in Philadelphia with Fred and
Karen and someone named Vicki in the summer of 1977. It was an excellent
program which Fred had created by getting yearly grants from the Pugh
Foundation. The grant money picked up 75% of the cost of the Optacon, which
made it feasible for me and hundreds of others over the years.
