As far as I know, Judy, no one has taken on the dissemination and marketing
of the optacon technology, let alone a website where one can look to see
what the optacon can do. There was another engineer here with whom I have
worked with for decades, who was because of his naive close-loop views about
blindness, assumed that the optacon was a dead as the gramophone. As much
as he was wrong in also presenting to the assembled committee that an
optacon would be a waste of time and resources, I can't find fault with him:
Mike Donegan (that is this name) was merely expressing his view that the
optacon is a bygone technology like the gramophone. He was wrong, but he
was up front and honest about it. It is Rebbeca and Emanuel of Solid Word
Works (or whatever they are called; they bought the business from Ed and
Cecile who were fine and gentle folks)) who caused the trouble. A
conference here in Ottawa was planned, and although I am the designer and
whould have been there front and center, neither did they tell me when the
conference was, nor did they want me to attend because they knew I would
swing thing in the optacon project's favour. They had to get me out of the
way for the conference, the $1 million on the table, and the expertise which
certainly could have used, especially the software people and just simple
logistics.
So, if you have any ideas, please go for it. I have knot the strength to
take a bus downtown to meet with a lawyer to make things all ship-shape and
iron-clad.

Subject: [optacon-l] New Optacon
Hi To All,
While I applaud Charles' knowledge and others with the engineering talents I
certainly don't have, are there others on the list with marketing talents
and contacts? The reason I am asking is because we have been Talking about
this new optacon, which is good, but is there any forward momentum to the
talk? Just curious.
