Hello,

I've only read the last 2 posts, but I want to chime in that there are times
that JAWS won't read what one should be a no brainer. So, I want to suggest
what I've done recently. I have a copy of NVDA screen leader installed on my PC
desktop. It's free and gives me another option when JAWS fails, especialally on
the web and filling in PDF forms. I'm not at my computer to get the web address
at this moment, so Google NVDA download. When on the site it will look like you
need to donate, but there will be a link to skip donation and download the
screen reader. Also, if you or your employer has Microsoft 2010 or 2013, you
can download a free full version of Window-Eyes. This way you'll have all your
options at your fingertips. HTH.

Best,
Eileen

Subject: [optacon-l] Computers and mice

We're slowly switching to a new computer system at work. My boss and I have
been working like mad to make it accessible, but, so far, there are screens
Jaws just isn't reading at all. I was able to use the Optacon to read my
monitor and at least tell the people on the conference call what was
happening. Hooray!
If there were a way to coordinate the Optacon with a mouse, as we've been
discussing lately, it would open up whole new areas for blind people. For
me, it could mean the difference between continued employment and early
retirement. It may not come to that, but it's a definite possibility.

And then there are those screens that Jaws reads just fine, but the
developer left out all keyboard access, and the only way to execute a link
is to click with a mouse. Grrr.
