Just a word of caution here.

The R1 series of Optacon charges are a little more complex than today's
chargers. They are both voltage and current regulated and designed to match
the charging characteristics of the battery. The matching of the charger and
the battery is one of the reasons for the extremely long usable life of the
Optacon battery in comparison to other devices.

The original Telesensory charger must be used. I'm sure that Richard will
have these but if not, we do have some available here for both the R1 and
R2.

I'm sure Richard would have a replacement charger but it might be
pricy. Perhaps one could take their Optacon to a Batteries Plus and
let them recommend a solution. Old, simple technology. Trick would
be getting the proper plug from the charger with, of course the
proper voltage and current rating.
Good luck.
