I tried to reply offlist, but couldn't grab your email address.
Princeton Braillists have some excellent braille maps at very reasonable
prices. When one of the founders passed away, their collection was acquired
by, I think, National Braille Press.
They have detailed maps of several states, and even a couple cities, like New
York and Philadelphia. They also have map books for Europe, Africa, and Asia.
I love the Princeton Braillists maps!

Hey Guys,
I have a few braille maps, but they’re very expensive, and the selection is
pretty limited. I like maps quite a bit, and I’d like to get some print ones
if I can read them with an Optacon. I’m pretty sure they’d be much cheaper,
and I would have a much wider selection.
I’d like to try looking at a couple of state maps, the one I live in now, and
the one I grew up in to start with, where the towns are basically, and I’d
like to see if I can read a United States map, and perhaps a world atlas.
Have any of you looked at any print maps? Can you make out the shapes of the
states, say, in a U.
S. map, or see where the towns are on a state map? Are the print names easy to
read? I imagine they may not all be oriented the same way, but I can deal with
that. They might be very small print though, which is one of those things I’d
like to know about.
If any of you have looked at any, are there ones you think are particularly
easy to read with an Optacon? Any you would avoid?
