I imported the photos into my iBook via the card reader I always use, and Marion tried to upload them into Facebook from the iBook's desktop. When that didn't work — i.e., they went in sideways — I checked them both in Preview and Photoshop and ascertained that they displayed normally there, right side up. Then I tried uploading them from the hard drive to Flickr, using Flickr Uploader, and got the same sideways result.
