[muglo] Data Transfer

Some years ago I transferred files from and iBook to my eMac using an
ethernet cable. I now want to transfer some files between my eMac and
a new iBook using an ethernet cable. I know that I just have to
connect the two together but can't remember if I have to do something
in the preferences to have them 'talk' to each other - can someone
please tell me the answer? Or perhaps give a pointer to our archive
area?
