My suggestioin would be Johnson's Shut-ins State Park. Nice campground and
the shut-ins are a blast (bring your river clothes and shoes, you're going
wading/swimming). The water level and speed varies enough that you can find
appropriate areas for kids of all ages. Elephant Rocks State Park is just a few
miles
away and makes a perfect diversion. Kids love those big rocks.
