Addressing #3, I have the Droid (not X, not 2, the original Droid) and I
love the keyboard. Onscreen is fine for short one-line typing, but for
anything significant, especially with punctuation, I use the slide-out
keyboard. The one on the Droid 2 is supposed to be better.
Take a look at battery life also. I charge mine every night, and when I
leave it plugged in while I'm at work I have no issues, but on weekends when
I don't or can't charge it during the day, it has run out at least once or
twice. Don't pay any attention to the 16-day (or whatever) idle time. The
phone is NEVER idle; there are always apps running in the background. Of
course, battery life will vary depending on how much you use the screen,
sound, CPU, GPS, and Wi-Fi (the biggest drainers, in no particular order)
but regardless, I wouldn't plan on using it two days in a row without
charging it, and if you use it heavily (i.e. GPS in the car with the screen
on its brightest) for very long you will need to charge it during the day
too unless your battery is a LOT better than that of the Droid. And
remember, a faster processor clock speed draws more power.
