Hi all,
OK, it seems as if wiggling with JAWS and windows mobile center rather than trying with NVDA, may have worked. this is the first time I found a use for JAWS, and just reminds me of why I hate windows LOL.

hi,
for reasons beyond this post, I need to connect my apex to the network,
preferably through hard wire. in short, I need to track it's connection,
from connecting to success/failure. so here's what I've done so far. 1]
on windows 8.1, I have installed windows mobile center. 2] I know it
sees the apex, as I can view the registry of apex. but when I try to
connect, that never works.
so has anyone actually managed connecting this thing through USB, and
actually obtain an IP, is it back to humanware, or... trusty braille
sense?--
