The reality is that the "replaced" copy of any book is truly an arbitrary
judgment of the submitter of that book perhaps confirmed by the validator.
Hence, it may or may not be. In an ideal Bookshare world, both copies
would remain available with some sort of notation indicating why the newer
copy is a part of the database.
Sometimes it is easy to say something is better than another (a fair
replaced by the excellent usually is), but when an excellent replaces an
excellent, who knows as the parties involved may be looking at different
elements of a book when making the call.
