I understand kelpie's complaint here.

As there are other books that consistantly are marked adult, I am thinking 
of the Gay and Lesbian book titles, for a while they were being marked 
adult, even though the content wasn't, but the "topic" was offensive to 
some.

Books sometimes get mismarked Adult. It's up to the
validator, in the final analysis, to determine the
rating, I think, since he/she is the last person to
check (and hopefully read) the book. But if anyone
questions the rating, he/she can write to Carrie or
Claire and ask them to check it out and change the
rating, as Allison just did.

For some unknown reason, a while ago some children's
picture books were inexplicably rated Adult.
