I just did the first 16 two-page scans of the Coulter once with suspicious regions, once without. Both with grayscale at 400dpi. I saved the images and recognized first with regions being kept and then copied the images from the saved area back and rerecognized without suspicious regions. There was never a page whose accuracy reached 99.5 and the ranked spelling was 95.03 with suspicious regions included and 95.13 with suspicious regions excluded.
