[optacon-l] throwaway phones

Has anyone ever tried to read the screen of a throwaway cell phone with
the Optacon? I have a regular cell phone but only use it for cabs and
when I go out for long country walks as a way to feel safe. But with a
throwaway I would get rid of the monthly charges and just pay as I go.
But the problem is keeping track of the minutes and I wondered whether
anyone had experimented with this. Would hate to run out at an
inconvenient time. Any ideas?
