I know about reading math with an Optacon. By contrast, I tried to read some formulas concerning inductive and capacitive reactance on the internet, but the screen reader didn't even see the formula. It was probably a totally graphical representation of the equasions. The screen I had was not very friendly to an Optacon - probably because of the colors or the refresh rate of the video. I longed for a copy of the equasions in a book. Fortunately in this case, I found a set of lectures on the Handi-Ham site which covered the math verbally. That information put me in good stead to get a grade of 94 on my Amateur Extra Radio License. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Korene Kegg" <kkegg57@xxxxxxxxxxx> To: <optacon-l@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Tuesday, August 10, 2010 8:37 PM Subject: [optacon-l] Re: new optacon design > Same here.
