Hello Folks:

I second Catherine's description of a modernized Optacon. I also want the
ability to fill out forms using the Optacon (TSI had plans to create a pen
to work withthe Optacon for this purpose.) I want to be able to see
whatever the camera picks up on t he tactile array of vibrating pins. I
also want the optacon to be able to read the Windows and Linux GUI
screens -- the screen readers don't work on every website. I'd also like
a tactitle array that can be put on my wrist so I can see what i am
typing. I realize this can be done with speech output but I'm deaf as
well as blind.

I'd also like an Optacon that won't get damaged if you accidentally drop
it. Recently one of my Optacons accidentally slid off the table and hit
the floor and didn't work. I was fortunate to be able to get it fixed but
it shook me up because I had been told any "fall of the Optacon" would be
fatal and you can't buy new Optacons anymore.

I ahve an optical scanner but it doesn't do as good a job as my finger
does many times!
