Hello Friends,
Richard Oehm from Oehm Electronics here. I'm posting this
message to clear up any misconceptions. I'm still alive,
but the very sad news is that my wife Marilyn passed away in
the hospital this past Tuesday (June 23, 2020).
Unfortunately, Marilyn's health has been slowly but steadily
declining for the past few years.
I really miss her terribly. I have this habit of throwing
myself into work that has to be done to escape painful
things. So for the last few days, I work some, cry a little
and then try to get some more work done. Marilyn's
daughters and the rest of my family and friends have been so
supportive and concerned about me, it's truly amazing. I
know that at the moment Marilyn passed on the best twenty
six years of my life also ended. During the time I was
married to Marilyn I knew for absolute certain that I was
the most richly blessed person in all the world. I'm still
very richly blessed with wonderful and supportive friends
and family and I still have much to do and I must carry on.
However, I sincerely feel that the most incredible and
wonderful chapter of my life has concluded. Of course, I
still have at least a few more chapters to write before my
mortal life here has ended, and I will do my best to make
the life I have left meaningful, productive, purposeful and
fulfilling. I have learned so very much during my marriage
to Marilyn and she brought me immeasurable love, joy and
fulfillment. I have always been a very self confident
person and have always had a very positive self image.
However, the many lessons I've learned from Marilyn during
our marriage have improved my understanding and appreciation
of life and I like who I am and the person I've become much
more because of all that I've learned from Marilyn. She
really has polished my rough edges, broadened my prospective
and made me a better person. Being married to Marilyn was
the very best blessing I've ever received, and I've always
been a very richly blessed and very fortunate person.
I will continue to repair Optacons and other vintage access
technology.
Although, I might not get too much of this work done for the
next two or so weeks. I'm going to have to make some major
adjustments in the next week or so. This includes putting
together a small commemorative funeral service to be held on
this upcoming July 7, 2020. This outdoor event has to be
small so it complies with Covit 19 restrictions. I'm still
a very richly blessed and very fortunate person and I must
carry on. If I didn't, so very many wonderful people and
Marilyn would be terribly disappointed with me.
Thanks for all of the condolences and concern. Though it's
very challenging right now for me to feel much enthusiasm, I
will get through this and continue to be of service to all
of you. Thanks for your time and patience reading this long
posting.
