Have you tried Richard Oehm? His e-mail is oehmelec@xxxxxxx and he has an 
electrical company in California. If your optacon is fixable and he can get the 
parts, he'll fix it. He replaces batteries in the R1D models for $95 and he can 
give them a good checkup too. So he could find out if the charger needs 
fixing or the optacon does. If it's the charger, he might even have a 
replacement 
for it.
