Ollie
Here is the response I received from Robert. I have an DVD of the video
which runs about 15 minutes and is mostly about the VersaBraille. While the
audio doesn't mention the Optacon, viewing it shows that the Optacon was a
critical part of making the job doable.

I can send a copy of the DVD to anyone interested in putting it on Youtube.

Hi Jim,

Yes, I do still have the DVD copy you sent. I watched it, and it's
interesting, but I didn't pursue converting it since the Optacon is only
tangentially a part of it. I'd be glad to upload it though, but
unfortunately there's no way I can take the time right now to convert it.
We're doing a new faculty hire, it's grad admissions time, and I've got
about fifty other irons in the fire--and will find out the results of my
tenure case in March or April (keep your fingers crossed...). But if
someone wants to do the editing and conversion and send me the files, I'd be
glad to upload them to the Optacon Youtube channel--the uploading part is
easy, the editing and conversion is trickier. Here's what would need to
happen.

(1) If you have the .avi and .wav file that were used to create the DVD,
then you would need to import them and integrate them together using
QuickTime Pro (or some other similar multimedia editor or studio) and export
it as a .mov file.
(2) If you don't have the .avi and .wav files, then you would need to rip
the DVD to .mov directly. I don't think QuickTime supports that though.
(3) Because there is a limitation of only ten minutes per each video on our
Youtube channel, the .mov file would need to be edited into segments that
are under ten minutes in length.

If you, or someone else, can send me the files in .mov format, each under
ten minutes in length, I'd be glad to post it.
