At various times in my life people have helped me learn to sign
my name. Never did it often enough to maintain the same
strokes. Many years ago I switched to a signature stamp with of
course consistent results. Our mortgage company, the IRS and other
important (at least to themselves) entities are okay with it!

Just curious, if you have never handwritten, how do you sign your name, what
do you use as your signature?
At the blind school I attended at the time, we were taught our handwriting
signatures, and although many of us could not see what we were writing, we
were given a raised-line version of our signature, and checked by the
teacher until the muscle memory kicked in.
Years later, before retiring, I had so many things to sign off on that I
finally got a signature stamp, which increased my productivity.

I have never had sight, so have never handwritten. However,
when I read handwriting with the Optacon there may be some
letters that I can't decipher, but there are enough characters
for me to get enough information to work out who the card or
message is from.
