Hello,
It might actually be the cable from the camera to the machine,
unfortunately, as I believe each pin has a connector and the little
wires inside the cable are quite fragile. The batteries can also just
wear out but then I don't think only one side of the pin array would be
affected.
At least, that was my experience.
