Why not do a search at the Apple Knowledge Base for your question? If you don't find a posting on the subject, post your own. Chances you'll find someone there who's tried this. Otherwise, I might suggest you try the <http://www.LowEndMac.Net> mailing lists. These are bigger lists (lots of volume) but they may have a member who tried exactly what you're trying to do. I would be a touch surprised if OS 9 and the newer iPods are incompatible. Apple no longer supports OS 9 for anything more than legacy purposes (its core is roughly 12 years old afterall and software is no longer being developed for it), but the iPod ought to use fairly standard communications protocols since, I think they implement their copy-protection in the iPod itself, and not through drivers.
