[muglo] Smelly Mac ?

Anyone ever had any 'burning smells ' from their Mac ?
Yesterday, after using the DVD player in my G5 - I had a problem with
a smell of burning plastic !
Possibly from the cinema display - which felt quite warm/hot? The
DVD tray was empty and functionng okay .
I shut everything down - checked power fuses etc all okay, and made a
successful restart. No blockage of air vents to the machine.
It might have been my APC unit - but there had been no brownouts.
I have had the Mac running 24/7 for some weeks now - could that be
the problem - and its just got overheated ?
What the hell is/was it ? Smell has disappeared now
Anyone had a similar experience ?
